Sarah Sharp was a kernel developer and she’s stepping down because of the animosity on the kernel email list.
There are all kinds of opinions kicking around from “She’s right!” to “She’s overly sensitive,” but if she feels that way, odds are other people do, too. And we don’t necessarily know when those people quit. They just might quietly move on to other projects and the kernel is the worse for it.
Linus Torvalds is a smart guy but his communication style is outdated. I’m wondering if the kernel wouldn’t be better served by someone between Linus and the contributors.
