Last week I presented at a library conference where we were told to bring our own laptops for our presentations. I was nervous since Linux often doesn’t play well with unknown hardware. I had backups of everything in case I needed to borrow someone else’s laptop. I’m happy to report I had no problems at all, though. Ubuntu 14.04 worked like a champ, with the VGA output no issue at all. In fact, I had less problems with my computer than others did with their Windows machines (I think using PDFs to present helps a lot, too).
