I think I know the answer to this, but am I the only person who doesn’t hate email? For me, it’s fine because I treat it like a place to keep and read messages. It’s not my task manager and it’s not a file archive. It’s just a way for people to tell me stuff.

That articles seems to go pretty far out of its way to bash a tool that helped bootstrap the Internet. The usability concerns are real though, but even then that’s just a side effect of not having a corporate monopoly over the system. You think threaded email is bad? Try some CSS.

I’ve been making a concerted effort to rely more on email. I’ve revived my weekly email newsletter, and unfollowed everybody except my wife and kids on Facebook.

Well, I guess it’s like with every tool: if you keep your workbench tidy and organized, working is fun. If mess it up it’s suprisingly a mess.
