To be honest, my preferred way to listen to music is on CD, as unfashionable as that might be. You push a button, the music plays, and then it’s over — no ads, no privacy terrors, no algorithms!
Ben Sisario, of The New York Times, is right. CDs are still shockingly convenient, although I do tend to rip them and then send them off to be recycled. Plus, as long as you have the physical disc or the file, you always have your music.
He also prints out his writing drafts, as do I!

The CD Recycling Center is interesting. I’ve been lugging 500 CDs around for years – afraid to let them go in case I somehow lose all 3 of my digital copies (Google Drive / Google Music / Local copy on my hard drive). My own CDs, in digital form, are 95% of my music listening time.

For me, it’s just easier to listen to the things I ripped than drag out a CD. We still have way too many CDs, but it’s more manageable.
